Reports

A Report is an AI-generated research package for a single company. Every report combines a Fundamentals analysis with Norn's quantitative metrics and an investment thesis. Reports are persisted in your workspace and live at

/report/company/[reportId]

Generating a report

Two paths:

• From Norn AI — "Generate a report on NVDA." Norn AI runs the fundamentals analysis, pulls quant metrics, and drafts the thesis. Generation takes 20–60 seconds.
• From a ticker's Stock info page — the Generate report action on

  /info/[ticker]

  produces the same report.

Each report is a one-shot snapshot. To refresh a stale report, generate a new one — reports don't auto-update.

Reading a report

Every report has the same structure:

Header

• Company name, ticker chip, data source.
• Fundamentals score (0–100%) and verdict label (Strong · Moderate · Weak).
• Generated timestamp with a stale badge if the report is more than 30 days old.

Meta strip

Sector, market cap, latest close, average volume, and price window.

Summary

One-paragraph overview of what the analysis found.

Fundamentals analysis

Seven cards covering the factors that drive a stock's long-term thesis — each with a rating (Strong / Neutral / Weak) and a score.

• Current earnings — quarterly earnings growth.
• Annual earnings — long-term earnings trajectory.
• New drivers — new products, management, or highs.
• Supply & demand — float, buybacks, and volume dynamics.
• Industry leadership — leader or laggard in its industry group.
• Institutional sponsorship — ownership and flows from institutional investors.
• Market alignment — how the setup fits current market direction.

Quantitative metrics

Sharpe, expected return, volatility — same data you see in Insights, snapshot at generation time.

Investment thesis

• Bull case — what has to be true for the stock to work.
• Bear case — what breaks it.
• Catalysts — near-term drivers (earnings, product launches, regulatory).
• Moat — durability of the competitive position.
• Outlook — 6–12 month directional read.

Footer

Report ID, generating token usage (counted against your monthly chat allotment).

How reports differ from Insights

Insights is a live, sortable table across the whole tracked universe — great for ranking. A report is a one-shot deep dive on a single name with structured analysis and a written thesis — great for making up your mind.

If you need to compare tickers side by side, use Insights. If you're deciding whether to buy something, generate a report.

Where reports live

Reports show up on the Items page with the Report badge. Filter with the Reports chip to see just your reports.

Delete from the report page's ⋮ menu — the deletion removes the persisted analysis but leaves any Norn AI threads that referenced it intact (the link becomes stale).

Ask Norn AI

Norn AI generates and reasons over reports for you. Try:

• "Generate a report on NVDA."
• "Summarize the bull and bear case from my latest AVGO report."
• "Compare the fundamentals scores across my last three reports."
• "Do I have a report on TSM? If not, generate one."

Reports use the same universe as Insights.
